Terms of Use
Last updated 1 November 2026
These terms apply to your use of Kick the Bucket List (the "app"), on Android and at https://kick-the-bucket-list.pages.dev. The app is provided by an individual developer based in Adelaide, South Australia ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. The app
The app helps you plan and track personal goals. Your data is stored on your device. You are responsible for keeping your own backups, for example with the export feature or Premium cloud backup.
2. AI Guide
The AI Guide produces suggestions using an AI model. Its answers may be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for you. It is not professional advice (including medical, financial, legal, safety or travel advice). Use your own judgement, check important information, and take care with risky activities. Free users get a limited number of AI messages per month; Premium users get a higher fair-use limit. We may apply rate limits to keep the service available.
3. Premium, subscriptions and payment
- Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase, at the prices shown in the app and Google Play.
- Payment is charged to your Google Play account. Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing and managed with RevenueCat.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. You can cancel any time in Google Play: Play Store > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
- Any free trial or introductory offer shown at purchase converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policies, except where Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise.
- "Lifetime" means for as long as the app and Premium service are offered by us, not for your lifetime.
- Use "Restore purchases" in the app if Premium does not show on a new device.
4. Cloud backup
Cloud backup is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read or recover your data if you lose your sync code or passphrase. Keep them safe and do not share them. You can delete your cloud backup at any time in Settings (“Delete my cloud backup”); deleted backups cannot be recovered.
5. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the app or its servers, including by trying to bypass limits or payments, overloading or attacking the service, reverse engineering the server, or using the AI Guide to create unlawful, harmful or abusive content. We may limit or block access that breaks these terms.
6. Your content
You own the content you create. You give us only the permission needed to process it to provide the features you use (for example, sending a message to the AI Guide or storing your encrypted backup).
7. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.
8. Disclaimer and limits on liability
Subject to section 7, the app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or always available, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited (at our option) to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
9. Changes and ending the service
We may update the app, its features, and these terms. We will post the updated terms here with a new date. We may stop offering the app or a feature; if we do, we will try to give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
10. Third-party services
The app relies on services from Google, RevenueCat, Cloudflare and OpenRouter, which have their own terms. See our Privacy Policy for how data is shared with them.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia.
